Filing in Frio County
We file with the Frio County District Clerk in Pearsall and get your spouse's waiver of service signed and notarized.
The 60-day wait & prove-up
Texas requires 60 days from filing before a divorce can be finalized. Then we present the decree to the judge and you're done.
A LITTLE FRIO COUNTY HISTORY
We know where you’re filing
Frio County isn’t just a line on a map to us. It’s brush country, peanut fields, and families who have been here for generations.
Frio County was created in 1858 out of Atascosa, Bexar, and Uvalde counties, and was formally organized in 1871.
The county and its river take their name from the Spanish word frío — 'cold' — for the spring-fed, cold-running Frio River.
Pearsall has been the county seat since 1883 and is known as the Peanut Capital of the World, complete with a giant peanut monument downtown.
The community of Bigfoot is named for legendary Texas Ranger William A. A. 'Bigfoot' Wallace, who lived out his later years nearby.
The old Frio Town settlement served as the first county seat before the railroad pulled county business east to Pearsall.
The Eagle Ford Shale boom reshaped Pearsall and Dilley in the 2010s, bringing new families, new jobs, and new pressures on old marriages.
